One of the best spots to grab a drink and just chill is La Laguna, a tapas restaurant and bar situated right on the beach in Canggu. This secluded spot has become known for its beautiful gypsy-inspired caravans and bohemian setting — you’ll feel as if you’re in a fairytale wonderland!
See more from my visit to La Laguna below.
Arriving at La Laguna, you’ll immediately feel transported to a different world. The entrance, located off the end of Jl. Pantai Kayu Putih in Canggu, will lead you to a lane of beautifully carved gypsy caravans set in lush greenery.
So beautiful, you’ll want to take your time strolling and taking photos of the intricately designed antiques before actually entering the restaurant!
Through the other side of the caravans, you’ll find the restaurant and bar at La Laguna — including a large open area with plenty of batik cushions for lounging on the lawn. There is a strong attention to detail at La Laguna and completing the bohemian setting are dozens of string lights overhead.
The restaurant overlooks a lagoon and one of the most stunning features of this dreamy spot — a beautifully ornate wooden bridge which connects the restaurant to the beach.
On the beach are several wooden teepees that are very helpful in finding the restaurant if entering from the beach, but also make for a beautiful backdrop at sunset.
La Laguna has a great menu for sharing with plenty of tapas options, as well as salads, sandwiches and larger entrees. The cocktail list is extensive with plenty of tropical inspired drinks (some of which are served in a coconut — bonus points!).
The perfect place for dinner with friends, post-beach cocktails or a romantic date, La Laguna is truly one of the most magical spots in Bali.
