Spending time in New York City is a unique experience – each part of the city is so different from the next that you can feel like you are in a different city altogether. From the string-light lit patios in Brooklyn to the high-rises of Mid-town to the lush greenery of the park, New York has it all.
Planning a quick trip to the city? While you could actually spend weeks exploring NYC and still not see everything, there are some definite can’t-be-missed spots. If you just have 48 hours in the city, here is the guide for a quick NYC adventure.
STOP 1: Cha Cha Matcha – this place has become Insta famous… And yes, the matcha is delicious! Their matcha latte is wonderful and they even have matcha soft serve. Grab a tea here before starting your adventure through the city!
STOP 2: Nolita – Take a stroll around the picturesque streets of this little but vibrant neighborhood and check out the stylish boutiques, art galleries and restaurants.
STOP 3: Tacombi – Hungry for lunch? Grab some tacos (try the cochinita pibil, just like the ones we had in Tulum!) and margs at this kitschy spot. This place has such a cool Mexican street style vibe with string lights and a retro VW bus as a taco stand inside!
STOP 4: Washington Square Park – rent some Citi Bikes and bike down to Washington Square Park for a relaxing afternoon of hanging out on the grass, catching some live music and excellent people watching.
STOP 5: West Village – continuing the bike tour, head over to the charming West Village for some unique boutique browsing. Stop over at Jeffrey’s Grocery for some rosé and oysters, perfect for a hot summer afternoon.
STOP 6: TriBeCa – finish off the bike tour in the cobblestone streets of TriBeCa and grab an intimate dinner at Smith & Mills. This 1930s-style bar is a converted carriage house and all food is made to order right at the bar.
STOP 1: Jack’s Wife Freda – Start off the day right with brunch at this amazing West Village spot. Try the shakshouka!
STOP 2: SoHo – Explore the one of my favorite areas for prime shopping!
STOP 3: Momofuku Milk Bar – Pop by this award-winning bakery and get the cereal milk soft serve. YUM!
STOP 4: Central Park – A visit to New York City is incomplete without seeing Central Park! Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring, it’s beautiful!
STOP 5: The Lobby Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental: After spending some time relaxing in the park, head up to the The Lobby Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental for some fancy cocktails and unbelievable views of the park and city!
Have fun wandering this beautiful city!
